(This is backdated to fit the sequence.)These are sketches for a Barack Obama portrait. The shirt sketch resulted from a suggestion from Bunny and Doug to go more conceptual. But a part of this project is to be less conceptual actually. I do plan however to have these portraits be something more than just a likeness, we'll see where it goes.

Great work! I particularly like the likeness of Obama...much better than the white shirt. He seems so monolithic and almost rock solid in the way you have depicted him...I think you have more mileage in it...I love the idea of your thesis...looks like a lot of fun...and a lot of work...but so huge print opportunities if the timing works out. Hope all is good with you and your family. Summer sure has been short this year!
